According to the Green Erasmus research, almost 94% of students are concerned about climate change. At the same time, international student mobility has grown considerably in the past two decades thus generating around half a million tonnes of CO2, which are destined to increase. The good news is that there are ways (and funds) to travel sustainably and to learn from this experience!

Small steps you can take
  • The new Erasmus+ programme guide foreseen additional funding if you travel green. Check the requirements with your Higher Education Institution!
  • In cooperation with ESN, the Eurail company released the Interrail Pass for Erasmus+ to travel 4 or 6 travel days over 6 months! You can use it to travel to and from your Erasmus destination and even during your day!
  • Do you want some tips and tricks to travel sustainably, to know you already travelled green and how is it important? Consult the Higher Education Student's Handbook to travel green.
